Travel breaks routine. A short plan keeps a client training and makes the return easier.
Ask early
Ask clients to tell you about trips two weeks ahead. Ask where they are going, for how long and what training space they will have.
Match the plan to the space
- Hotel gym: keep the main lifts if bars and plates exist, otherwise use dumbbells.
- No gym: bodyweight sessions and a walking target.
- Busy trip: two short sessions, not five.
Shorten the sessions
Write sessions of 30 to 40 minutes. Keep the most important lifts and drop the rest.
Keep the check-in
Ask for the weekly check-in as usual. Ask about sleep and time zone, which can change sessions more than the kit.
Plan the return
Do not jump back to the old loads on day one. Start the first session a little lighter and review how it felt.
Do not make them feel guilty
A trip is a normal part of life. A client who feels judged will stop telling you about them.
Where Trainersight fits
Trainersight lets you edit one session without rebuilding the block, so a trip week takes minutes.
