When a client misses sessions
and what to change

One missed session is normal. Three in a row is information. Here is how to read it.

17 October 20264 min read

Do not start with the missed session. Start with why it happened.

Ask for the reason

Ask one plain question: what got in the way? Write the answer down.

  • Time, work or family.
  • Tired or unwell.
  • An injury or a sore joint.
  • The session looked too hard, or too long.

Adjust the week

Do not stack the missed session onto the next one. Drop the least useful work and keep the main lifts.

Tell the client what moved, so they do not guess.

Look for a pattern

A client who always misses Friday needs a different week, not a reminder. Count misses by day and by reason over a month.

Know when to reset

After two or more missed weeks, restart the block gently. Loads from before the gap may no longer fit.

Where Trainersight fits

Trainersight flags a client who has gone quiet on your Needs you page. Skipped sets carry a reason you can read.
