Trainersight sells no insurance. This is general information, not advice. Read each insurer's own wording. Pages read on 19 October 2026.
Check what covers your online clients
Ask whether a gym's policy covers clients you coach on your own. If it does not, you need your own cover. Ask in writing.
Public liability and indemnity
Public liability protects you against claims from third parties. Indemnity cover is for claims about the advice or service you give. Ask what each policy includes and its limit.
What FitPro says
FitPro's personal trainer insurance page says it covers live training such as Zoom and live streaming. It also covers pre-programmed video content.
It says the insurance is written on a worldwide basis for UK residents. It includes up to 12 months of worldwide cover. Public liability is £2m, £5m or £10m. Indemnity options are the same. It names Aviva as underwriter.
What Insure4Sport says
Insure4Sport says it offers online cover for category A sports, including personal training. Check your sport and the coach to participant ratio in its scope.
Clients outside the UK
FitPro says its cover depends on you remaining a UK resident. If a client lives abroad, ask the insurer whether that client is covered.
Questions to ask before you buy
- Does it cover coaching by video, app and message?
- Are clients outside the UK covered?
- What are the limits and the excess?
- Does it cover advice about training only, or other advice too?
- What records or agreements does the insurer expect you to keep?
- What is excluded?
Our agreement guide lists clauses that many insurers may ask about. Check with yours.
