Handing over a client
when coaching ends

Give the client their programme and results, and close the relationship clearly.

19 October 20262 min read

Clients leave for many reasons. How you finish decides whether they come back or recommend you.

Give them what they need

  • Their current programme.
  • Their best sets and progress report.
  • Notes on injuries and what to avoid.
  • The loads and effort they used.

Say what stops and when

Confirm the last day of coaching and the last day you will reply. Check this against your agreement.

Write a short summary

Give two or three lines on what changed and what to work on next. Use their real figures.

Ask for feedback

Ask one question about what you could have done better. It is also the moment to ask about a testimonial, with their permission.

Keep a record

Keep your notes and the client's data as long as your agreement and the law require. Delete what you no longer need.

Leave the door open

Tell them they are welcome to return. Say how.

Where Trainersight fits

Trainersight keeps the programme, bests and notes in one record. A handover pack takes minutes.
