Client retention
for online coaches

Most clients who leave went quiet first. Watch for the quiet.

18 October 20265 min read

A client rarely cancels without warning. Their logging slows, replies get shorter, then they stop.

Fix the first month

Message after the first session. Keep week one easy. A client who finishes week one has a habit to protect.

Watch for early signs

  • Sessions logged late or in bulk.
  • Check-ins skipped two weeks in a row.
  • Short answers to questions that used to get paragraphs.

Reach out once, plainly

Send a short message that asks what changed. Do not send a reminder that reads as blame.

Show progress

Send a monthly summary with sessions done, top sets and one change. A client who sees movement keeps paying for it.

Make leaving easy to discuss

Ask clients at month two what would make them stay. Fix what you can. Let the rest go without argument.

Where Trainersight fits

Trainersight lists quiet clients on your Needs you page. It shows the reason where one was given.
