Film lifts for review
so a coach can use them

Send the same angle every time, with the whole lift in frame.

19 October 20262 min read

A coach can only review what the video shows. Give clients a short filming guide.

Pick the angle

For squats and deadlifts, film from the side. For the bench press, film from the side or from the foot end.

Place the phone

  • Prop it on a bench or rack, around hip height.
  • Keep it still. Do not hold it.
  • Stand far enough back to see the whole body and the bar.
  • Turn the phone on its side unless the space is tight.

Check the light

Face the light source, not the window behind the lifter. A dark clip hides the bar.

Film the right sets

Send the heaviest working set and one lighter set. Film one set per clip.

Label every clip

Write the lift, the weight, the reps and how hard it felt. A clip with no label takes longer to review.

Send it the same day

Ask for the clip within a day of the session, while the set is fresh.

Where Trainersight fits

Trainersight keeps each clip with the set it came from. The coach can trace the bar path on screen.
