Cancellation terms
in a coaching agreement

Write down how a client can leave before they join.

19 October 20262 min read

This is general information, not legal advice. Have a solicitor read your agreement.

Say how long it runs

State whether the client pays month to month or for a fixed term. Put the start date in the agreement.

Set a notice period

Many coaches ask for notice before the next payment date. Pick a period you can keep, such as seven or fourteen days.

Cover refunds and cooling-off

UK consumer rules usually give a 14 day cancellation period for services bought online. Check the current rules on gov.uk.

A client may ask to start straight away. You may be able to charge for the days used. Check this first.

Plan for pauses

Say what happens with injury, illness or a holiday. Decide whether time is paused, credited or lost.

Write it plainly

Use short sentences. Show the client the cancellation section before they pay.

Where Trainersight fits

Trainersight is not a contract tool. It keeps the coaching record, so start dates, check-ins and sessions are easy to show.

Register your interest

Trainersight is not open to new coaches yet. Try the sample dashboard, or leave your details and hear when it opens.
