A beginner makes progress on almost any sensible plan. Your job is to keep them training.
Keep the programme small
Three days, a few main movements and two or three accessories. Repeat the same sessions for several weeks.
Give loads, not effort scales
Beginners rate effort poorly at first. Give them a weight and a rep target, and adjust from what they log.
Teach technique with video
Ask for one clip per main lift in week one. Give one correction. Check the next clip.
Plan a fast first win
Set a target the client can hit in three to four weeks. A rep goal on one lift works.
Check in more often early
Message after session one and again after the first week. Early silence is the best warning you get.
Move to effort later
After a couple of months, introduce effort ratings with examples from their own sets.
Where Trainersight fits
Trainersight can prescribe kilos for newer clients and effort for experienced ones. The coach sets it per client.
