End of block review
before the next block

Review each block before you write the next one. Ten minutes is enough.

19 October 20262 min read

A block ends and the next one starts. A short review in between stops you repeating mistakes.

Look at the numbers

  • Sessions done out of planned.
  • Top sets on the main lifts against the plan.
  • Effort written against effort reported.

Ask the client

What felt good, what felt like a grind, and what they would change. Keep the questions open.

Sort what you find

Write three lists: keep, change and drop. Be specific. For example, drop the third accessory on day two.

Check pain and time off

Note any injury, illness or holiday. They explain results that the numbers alone do not.

Plan the next block

Write one goal for the block and the changes from your review. Share them with the client.

The programme review template has a section for each step.

Where Trainersight fits

Trainersight shows planned against logged sets for each block, so the review starts with the figures.
