Powerlifting clients train for a date. That changes how you plan, review and communicate.
Start with the meet
Take the meet date, weight class and federation. Plan the block back from the date, with the last heavy session set in advance.
Know the real numbers
Ask for recent competition results and recent gym bests. Keep them apart. A gym best is not a competition total.
Review technique on video
Ask for the competition lifts from the side. Check depth, pauses and lockouts against the federation rules.
Plan attempts
Agree openers from what the client has done in training, not what they hope to lift. The attempt calculator helps work out jumps.
Watch bodyweight
If the client is cutting to a class, track weigh-ins weekly and agree a checkpoint plan.
Prepare for the day
Send a run sheet: warm-up timings, kit, rules and who handles attempts.
